EDNA KENNA ran well in the rough going and, after maintaining a forward position from the start and drawing away into a decisive lead in the stretch, held WANDA PITZER safe in the final drive. WANDA PITZER was going fast at the end after having lost ground by coming wide. CARRIE ORME had no mishaps and finished fast. MEX showed high speed, but quit in the stretch after racing into the lead. CELEBRITY closed a gap. UNCLE WILL quit after setting the early pace. The winner was entered for 00; no bid. SWEET HELEN raced in closest pursuit, but tired and just lasted long enough to save second place. LYNETTE was gaining fast in the list eighth. WHITE CROWN began slowly and dropped back, but came fast through the last eighth. BROOKS closed a gap and tired. KING GORIN raced well up to the last eighth. FLEURO raced forwardly to the stretch and tired. SLEETH dropped back after racing well for a half. Overweights — Bon Quince, 2 pounds; Brooks, 5; King Gorin. 3: Huffaker, 4%. SWIFT FOX set a good pace, but tired in the stretch. The others never figured seriously in the running.
