CURRENT NOTES OF THE TURF. Nine foals have arrived at Joseph E. Seagrams Waterloo Farm in Ontario this spring, three of which are colts by Kockville. The yearlings number seven. An interesting arrival at the Thorncliffe Farm : of the late Kobort Davies is a foal by Sain — Irs, riffle, the dam having been bought last fall in Kentucky. The Elkwood Park Stables Watercress II.. which as a yearling in 1914 sold for the record price of the year, but failed to gain distinction as a two-year-old. has been schooled for jumping, and H. L. Pratts Uazzano is another which will take to steo-plechasing this season for the first time. The two-year-olds Ambassador. Hornet. Hillspring and Outlaw, have heea sent from the Yalley Farm at Hamilton to Windsor with Rod Kiro and will he prepared there by trainer John Walters with the others of G. M. Hendrios string, for racing at Woodbine. They were bred at Hamilton and are by Yoter. Charles Edward. Martimas and Harvey. The twenty-two horses comprising this years racing string of the Thorncliffe Stable now at Woodbine Park. Toronto, will be sold at auction. The matter has been under consideration for some time by the executors of the estate of the late Mr. Robert Davies, and this course has lieon decided upon. There are several valuable broodmares at the farm, and these will be kept for breeding purposes. AYilliam Walker has added Mima G. and the three-year-olds William W., W. A. Wright and Miss Fay. to the lot he shipped to Toronto from Maryland. He declares be will not in the future take away any of his home-bred two-year-olds for winter training, as he has not had satisfactory results. The colt Beaches, by Stanley Fay — Pecasta. which was killed in a runaway at Bowie, was a fast youngster, and had worked as well as anybodys horse. At a mooting of the executive committee in charge of tiio lienefit for Notre Dame hospital during the coming race meeting at Dorval Park. Montreal. May 29 to June 5, Dr. Lachapollo. president of the hospital, and Mme. J. R. Thiboaudeau. one of its most active patronesses, explained the details of the ticket selling plan. Some of the most active workers for the hospital were present. It was announced that an anonymous friend had guaranteed the sale of Ml seats at , and Mr. N. Dupuis 200. Racing folk will he loth to learn that the Duke of Connaught. governor-general of Canada since September, 1911. will, it is understood, terminate his sojourn in Canada during the present summer, or in the early fall, and return to England. A new governor-general will be named about mid-sunimor. His royal highness has evinced a kindly interest in racing throughout his entire sojourn in Canada and holds a warm place in the hearts of all sportsmen.
