INTERESTING RACING AT BELMONT PARK. : Prince Henry Wins a Good Race — Dunga Din a Surprise — Comely in a Canter. New York, June 5. — There was a good Monday crowd at Belmont Park today. The winners in j the majority of instances were well backed. Prince Henry 1 won" what was really the best race of the day. The Talbott horse ruled first choice, with Yankee Notions next in demand. Dunga Din. an outsider, took the opener from Bally, from the Butler stable. John E. Maddens Star ; Fiuch was a short -priced favorite in the , race but was never a contender. Comely did better for the Butler stable when she | made a show of her opposition in the second. She ruled at prohibitive odds. Virile was again a winner over a mediocre band and was another edds-on favorite to score. Pinch, taken out of a selling race recently by A. G. Blakeley. set a slow pace to the final eighth, where Virile came away easily. The Brighton Stable has purchased from J. E. Madden the three-year-old Woodward for the reported price of ,200. The Wickliffe Stables Meliora was stricken with cidic today, receiving medical attention. After Prince Henrys victory he was the object of a runup, when S. J. Baiocchi, owner of Spring-mass, a starter in the same race, advanced him from 00 to .,000. He was protected. Trainer Jack Gohlsborough and jockey Butwell arrived from Louisville today. Goldsliorough said Boamer hardly dr.*w a long breath after his race in tiie Kentucky Handicap Saturday and was in fine spirits while being cooled out. A slight shower arising before the running of the third race drove the crowd to temporary shelter. Matt J. Winn and Harry Breivogel were visitors today in the interest of the Empire City meeting, which is scheduled for July at the Yonkers course. * Ida Claire was claimed after the third race by S. J. Baiocchi. W. M. Sheedy arrived tod::y from Baltimore and sold Carlaverock to E. A. Whitney before leaving. P. S. P. Randolph has purchased Schoolboy and Barry, the latter a two-year-old, out which he expects to make a jumper. The stewards of the Jockey Club have lifted the suspension of jockey It. Ball.
