ATTRACTIONS OF RENO RACING. Reno. Nev.. June 12. — The blood horse will be crowned king in Nevada on July 1. when the summer meeting of the Reno Fair and Raring Aaaat ia tion will be inaugurated for a period of nineteen raetog days. Officials of the association have as-suriKccK from horsemen in many parts of the country that they will ship here for the meeting, which promises to he the banner event in Nevada turfdom. President J. R. Duncan and general mauagcr Jacob Schas have received numerous requests for stable room for some of the better class of thor oughbreds now racing on the tracks of Kentucky, Canada. Arizona and Tijuana. Mexico. Six or more races will be run daily, with purses of 00 each, excepting the stake races, which total 500. Of thcac DM ffllllil Derby, to be run Saturday. July 15. is the banner race, the value to be ,500. The I.ttsiness Mens Handicap, scheduled for the closing day. Saturday. July 22, is next in prominence with a guarantee of ,000 awaiting the winners. The Opening Handicap of ,000. the Independence Handicap of ,000. the Golden Stakes of 1.000, the Juvenile Stakes of ,000. as well as the Overland Handicap and the Riverside Handicap of 00 each, constitute the other features of the meeting. Arrangements to accommodate the large crowd of followers of the sisirt in Nevada and adjoining states are daily lieing made by officials of the association. Alterations on the buildings of the plant are tinder way, with others contemplated. The pari-mutuel system of betting will prevail, the officials feeling certain that the public approves of this style of betting. Arrangements have been made to put on twelve machines for the accommodation of the public. The selection of Robert Leighton as presiding judge has been highly praised by racing men. who know the calibre of the man chosen. Other officials are equally w 11 known to the racing fraternity.
