PIRAEUS began slowly and had to overcome some interference, but finished with a rush and got up to win in tlie last stride after stumbling in the last sixteenth. TRAPPING closed a good gap and appeared the winner after wearing DR. BARLOW down, but succumbed right at the end. DR. BARLOW raced well up all tlie way. IRREGULAR closed a gap and finished fast. FATHER RILEY began slowly and closed a big gap in tlie last quarter. LIBERATOR was knocked back in the first quarter and came fast in the stretch. HAWTHORN quit badly in the stretch.
