PROCEEDINGS OF THE JOCKEY CLUB. Saratoga, X. Y.. August 11. At the regular monthly meeting of the Jockey Club, held at the clubhouse of the Saratoga Association, Mr. Edward F. AVhitney, of Oyster Bay. L. I., and Mr. George D. AVidener. of Philadelphia, were unanimously elected members of the Jockey Club. No change was made in tlio present selling race rule, but the chairman, Mr. August Belmont, was requested to appoint a committee of six members of the Jockey Club to discuss and draw up a suitable selling race rule. At tlio meeting of the stewards of the Jockey Club the approval of the stewards was granted the Harford Agricultural and Breeders Association to conduct a race meeting September 12 to 30, inclusive. The Maryland State Fair of Laurel, Md., to conduct a race meeting from October 2 to October 31, inclusive. The Maryland Jockey Club to conduct a race meeting at Pimlico, Md., November 1 to 13, inclusive. The Southern Maryland Fair Association to conduct a race meeting at Bowie. Md., November 11 to 30, inclusive, and the appointment of the officials for the above meetings was approved. The approval of the stewards of the Jockey Club was granted the Piping Rock Association to conduct a race meeting at Locust Aalley, N. Y., on October 7 and 12. and Mr. C. K. J. Billings was appointed steward to represent the Jockey Club at this meeting. Mr. F. R. Hitchcock was appointed steward to represent the Jockey Club at the autumn meeting of the Winchester Racing Association Jockey and trainers licenses were granted as recommended by the license committee. On the report of the stewards of the Saratoga Association that jockey Sehuttinger had been sun-ponded and reprimanded for a listless and indifferent ride on the horse Campfire on July 31. and further that no proof of fraud had been . found, it was resolved that the suspension be terminated.
