. VETERAN OF MANY RACES DEAD. The career of one of the veterans of the raee track in America came to a close when Bat Master-son was destroyed at Dufferin Park, Toronto, AVednesday, to put him out of the misery arising from injuries received in a fall during the running of the opening race of that day. The twelve-year-old unsexed son of Frankfort and Vencssa had raeed with unbroken regularity season after Reason from the time he first faced the barrier as a two-year-old in 1905. As a young horse he held out considerable promise, and although with increasing age he was relegated to the drudgery of campaigning on the minor circuits, he generally rewarded his owners in a substantial way. During his eleven seasons on the turf he took part in 194 races, of which he won forty-one. and his winnings foot up the respectable total of 0,118.
