DATES CLAIMED FOR THIRD WINDSOR TRACK. Montreal, Quo., August 10. The management of the Rack River Jockey Club has planned an attractive program book for the second meeting at the Mount Royal track in this city, opening on Saturday next, August 19, and continuing up to and including Saturday, August 20. The club will cater liberally to seeplechasing this season and as the course is a splendid one the contests run orer it should be high class. The course is without exception the safest to race over of any of the Canadian tracks, it being a graded course with good footing, while the purses to be hung up for the events will make them attractive o all owners of such classes of horses. There will be no steeplechase event run with a purse of a value less than 1916.sh00 while more valuable handicaps will be given during the seven days of racing. There will be no stakes run at the meeting, but they will lie replaced by valuable overnight handicaps, which should attract good fields. As this meeting runs previous to the meeting at Counaught Park at Ottawa and the meeting at Rlue Rennets and Dorval, it will give horsemen twenty-eight days of racing in the vicinity of Montreal with little or no shipping. The promoters of the Rack River Jockey Club are also largely interested in the building of the new track at Windsor, which is to be named Devonshire Park, out of compliment to the now governor-general of Canada, who is to arrive early in October. The Mount Royal dates were changed so as, to give the new course at Windsor the dates from Saturday, September 23, to Saturday, September 30, inclusive. The club will run numerous handicaps during the Windsor meeting.
