NO STEEPLECHASING AT DORVAL PARK. Montreal. Que., September 5. In view of the fact that the .steeplechase course at Dorval is not in a fit condition to race over, and as there is no time to rebuild it before the opening of the autumn meeting, which follows Blue Monnets. the management of the club has decided definitely not to offer anv attractions for .the junipers. Only two races were run over the Dorval steeplechase course last spring and the going was found to be so heavy that owners would not make entries on other occasions. Although there will be no steeplechasing next fall, the course will be rebuilt after the close of the meeting so as to have it in condition for next year. The track will show murked improvement over any of the meetings ever held at Dorval Park. It was redressed following the close of the spring meeting and, by continual harrowing, has been turned over and over, until it offers firmer and faster footing, without the danger to horses shown at the previous meetings, of the club.
