AT WORK FOR THE REALIZATION. New York, September 8.-- With the auiioilnce-lnent that Friar Rock would not be a starter in the liwrein-e Utilization, Hie race has apparently resolved into a three-horse affair between Spur, Crimper and Star Hawk. This trio worked Wednesday in preparation for Saturdays feature, and unless the plans of their respective trainers go sadly amiss they will certainly start. Crimper covered a mile and a half in 2:37 in easy fashion and was not fully extended at any stage of the gallop. Against this Star Hawk worked over the same ground in 2:30, after going the first mile in 1:42. Spurs trial was also an excellent one. He traveled a mile and three-eighths in 11:23, after being eased up in the last eighth. William Midgley is preparing Gilford A. Cochrans Air Man for the race and believes that under the 111 pounds lie will be asked to carry the son of Waterboy and Colonial will give and excellent account of himself.
