RATINA slinped into a quick lead on the backstretch and withstood a hard drive through the final sixteenth. BIRD MAN finished with a rush and was going fastest at the end. FINNIG1N was badly outrun for the first half, but finished well and outgamed VIOLET in the stretch drive. MARIE OBRIEN was much used in following RATINA in closest pursuit and tired.
