Two jumps from the finish she had ASSOCIATION in close quarter just as he took the fence and he fell, injuring himself so badly he had to be destroyed. ASSOCIATION might have won with clear sailing. CHERRY MALOTTE, racing in improved form, was rated behind the pace to the last turn of the course, where she was rushed up on the outside and easily outfinished M. J. SHANNON. The latter finished with good courage and was as easily second best. SKIBBEREEN and DUKE OF DULUTH were used up in setting the pace and the latter was pulled up when he went lame.
