EXTENSIVE PIMLICO IMPROVEMENTS. Frank J. Bryan, who has returned to New York, after having served as an official of the Ontario Jockey Club at the Woodbine meeting, reported the most extensive improvements to the Pimlico course of the Marvland Jockey Club. He said that more than 00,000 had been expended and the course was almost made over. Among the changes Is the moving back of the upper end of the grandstand thirty-four and a half feet, which change will afford all to have a perfect view of the races without standing up. Another important change has been made in the steeplechase field whereby the finish is on the inside of the timers stand. Formerly there was a bend in the course to enable the horses to run around the jockey board, but this change straightened that out, and it is one that should bring better racing. The slight hill in the infield has been levelelled, affording a better view of the backstretch, and there have been vast improvements in the buildings, including the erecting of a new and thoroughly modern Jockey house.
