CINCINNATI TO HAVE ANOTHER TRACK. After a period of suggestions and denials, it is given with authority that another race track is to be established across the river south of Cincinnati. In a way there is nothing surprising in this. When the Latonia spring meeting ends then; is an interval of several months time, with no Kentucky racing. Louisville supports two fine tracks in good style. With a much greater population to draw from, Cincinnati and its adjacent towns would do the same. This and the ample open dates has been a standing temptation, to the blandishments of which ex-Congressman Joseph L. Rhinock and some1 associates have surrendered. "It is true," said Congressman Rhinock in the Enquirer of Sunday, "that local people have purchased about 100 acres in Itosedale and will construct a magnificient modern racing plant with a mile track. Covington is my home town and I have never lost interest in it. I shall be very glad to have an opportunity to purchase substantial interest in the proposed new racing plant, which I feel perfectly assured will be gladly welcomed by the local community." It is understood that the new racing plant will be the last word in up-to-dateness and convenience. It is proposed that the track shall be from 10 to 15 feet wider than any other track in Kentucky, and that all of the turns will be so constructed as to afford greatest ease to the horses that will later run over it. The stables, it is said, are all to be of fireproof construction with facilities for trainers and jockeys that will be unequalled any- WlThe" grandstand is to be of steel and concrete construction and will have seating capacity for n-ore than 20,000 people. Rest rooms, lunch hall and every modern convenience for the comfort and welfare of the public will be incorporated into this structure, which will be conveniently placed witli reference to the pari-mutuel sheds and the paddock. , , Tho topography of the grounds secured by Mr. Rhinock and his colleagues will lend itself to beautiful landscaping. It is their purpose to have one and to place all of or more lakes in the infield, the structures on the course with reference to the wonderful scenic beauty surrounding the track. Unusual attention is to be paid to the landscaping features.
