M0N0CACY FIGURES IN COURT SUIT. Windsor, Out., October 30. Differences between Mrs. T. Trovato, owner of the thoroughbred Monocacy, and James B. Dunn, who trains her horses, resulted in Monocacy being forcibly taken from Dunns stable by County Constable Smith, after Mrs. Trovato hud caused a search warrant to be issued. Dunn says Mrs. Trovato owes him for training expenses, which indebtedness he thinks, entitles him to keep the horse, but Mrs. Trovato thought otherwise and took the animal away from Dunns care Friday. Someone, however, visited the livery stable Friday night, and once again Monocacy was with Dunn. Now he is back with Mrs. Trovato. The dispute will be settled in court. In the meantime the horse will be prevented from racing at Devonshire Park. Monocacy is a six-year-old by Hamburg Mona-dour, and has had a chequered career. Mrs. Trovato is the wife of a well-known violinist on the principal vaudeville circuit, and Dunn was formerly in vaudeville also, being known on the stage as "Whistling Dunn." He was unable to obtain a license from the Canadian Racing Associations when lie came back this year after a considerable absence from the Canadian turf, and on several occasions the entry of Monocacy was refused because lie was not in charge of a licensed man. Half a dozen different trainers have been responsible for him at various times during the season, and the horse raced consistently for all of them, in spite of a bad-looking hind ankle. All told, Monocacy has started in thirty-six races on various tracks this year, winning fifteen times and being out of the money only eight times. His earnings amounted to ,175.
