SOME AFTERMATH OF LATONIAS RACING. Cincinnati, O., October 30. Eddie Dolling recovered fast from his harrowing experience on Saturday night in a local hotel when he was the victim of a daring holdup. The bandits got S5S5 in cash and about ,000 in jewelry. Among the valuables stolen was a diamond ring belonging to jockey Guy Garner that he paid ,000 for while riding iii France. Dolling was trussed to the bed, the robbers tearing the bed sheets into strips to bind him with. Two of the thieves entered Dolling room witli drawn revolvers and threatened to kill him if he made an outcry. After taking the money and jewelry they cut the telephone wires and locked the door on the outside. It was twenty minutes before Belling could release himself and the thieves had made good their escape. Some are of the opinion that the same gang which held up Sam Louis in Canada last summer had a hand in the Delling robbery. Jefferson Livingston has decided on campaigning on Maryland tracks before shipping to New Orleans for the racing there. Mose Goldblatt, acting for the owner, bought Saturday at private terms Syrian and the two-year-old Ben Ilampson. Seven cars of miscellaneously-owned horses were shipped today to Tijuana for racing at the meeting there. The wagering Saturday established a record at Latonia for a fall day. 85,000 was handled and at least 0,000 more was shut out on account of the players tardiness. Several owners in these parts contemplate wintering at Oaklawn, Hot Springs, and will send their horses there from Lexington and Louisville. Jockey C. Buxton departed Sunday for a sojourn in California for a time. He will report to trainer "W. B. Jennings, in charge of the A. K. Macomber stable, about February 1, at Charleston S. C. Clarence Turner, who was ruled off at Havana last winter, will go to Charleston, S. C, with the Macomber stable and continue to exercise most of the stars in the extensive string.
