PBOBABLE CANADIAN DATES BACING ASSOCIATIONS NOW CONSIDERING FLANS FOR COMING SEASON. Schedule for Independent Tracks Practically Arranged Montreal to Have Ninety-Eight Bays of the Sport. Montreal, Que., November IS. With the racing wasou in Canada over for this year, dates for the season of 1917 are receiving consideration. It is said that there will lie little change made in the Canadian Racing Associations schedule. Woodbine 1ark probably will open he season on May 10. The dates for the Canadian Mucins Associations tracks, are all guided by the opening at Toronto, the two tracks in Montreal following, after which comes the shift to Ottawa, then back to the Western Ontario courses again. The only opposition offered any of the Canadian Racing Associations tracks in Western Ontario will come from Devonshire Park, at Windsor, the 1017 dates for which have already been announced and advertised. These dates will conflict with the dates at Tort Erie. The meeting at Ottawa will probably have opposition from Mount Royal, whose dates will likely follow Blue Bonnets in the spring and autumn, while the dates for the second meeting at Devonshire Park will be much the same as this year, opening on the day that Woodbine closes, September "1. With all of the local tracks operating, it is impossible for each of them to have two Saturdays for each of their meetings, so that some of them will have to be satisfied with one Saturday to get in the necessary number of racing days. It is likely that the coming season will see the passing of the syndicate ring, which will be a good thing for the sport. Mount Itoyal will have the mutuels next year, the machines having already been ordered, while the management of King Edward Iark will also probably install them. The management of Delorimier Park, although they have made no definite announcement, are considering the advisability of putting in the machines. Gad Bryan, who was here recently to look over the plant at Kempton Park, stated that lie thought it best to install machines there, and a building for them will be erected jearly in the spring. The only tracks not mentioned in connection with the mutuels are Muisonneuvc, Dufferin Park and Hill-crest Park, the latter two at Toronto. With seven tracks in operation here there will be ninety-eight days of racing in the vicinity of Montreal, seven days more than during the past racing season, as King Kdward only ran one meeting. In Ontario there will be eight tracks operating, three of which are at Windsor. The Windsor tracks and the Fort Erie tracks draw their patronage from American cities. The eight tracks will give one hundred and twelve days racing in Ontario, which, with the ninety-eight in Montreal, will furnish horsemen with two hundred and ten days of the sport in Canada. In Ontario the government reaped a rich harvest from the racing, the daily tax being ,250, which will amount to -10,000 during the season of 1817. Following are the dates likely to be chosen for the independent tracks: Delorimier Iark May 19 to 2G. Mount Royal June 14 to 21. Muisonneuvc June 22 to 29. Devonshire Iark June 30 to July 7. Delorimier Park June 150 to July C. King Edward Park July 9 to 10. Kempton Park July 21 to 2S. Maisonneuve August 4 to 11. King Edward Park August 12 to 19. Kempton Park August 20 to 27. Mount Itoyal September 22 to 29. Devonshire Park September 29 to October C. To these will be added the two seven-day meetings at Kenilworth Park. , ; ! 1
