GOODWOOD wore the leader down on the far turn and drew away in the last quarter under a mild drive. VALAS raced into a good lead early, but tired after going three-quarters. BOB RED-FIELD began slowly and, being much used in getting to the leaders in the first quarter, tired in the stretch. ZODIAC closed a gap. REPTON ran poorly.
