GENERAL NEWS NOTES OF THE DAY. A Chinese refugee who arrived in Juarez late Friday night on the Mexican Central passenger train brought a report from Jiminez, Chihuahua, that practically all of the foreigners in Parral had been killed by Villa bandits. He said those killed included the American, German, Chinese. Hebrew, French and Arab residents in the mining camp. He also said a brother-in-law of Theodore Hoemuller at Jiminez had received conformation of the killing of Hoemuller, a German subject, and his family in Parral. The Chinese refugee added that the general belief in Jiminez was that Edgar Kock , a German consular agent in Parral, had been killed at Santa Rosalia. Five Americans are known to have readied Culiacan, Sinaloa, from Parral. United States government representatives here have also received practically the same report from a Chinese refugee who arrived in Juarez Thursday night. These reports agree that Villa and his bandits, after occupying the mining town, ordered the foreigners killed, looted the stores, arrested many of the natives and held them for ransom and committed other depredations. The Chinese refugee who arrived last night said at least twenty Chinese had been killed in Parral and that fifteen Arabs, Hebrews and Syrians had been put to death. lie did not know the number of the other foreigners who were killed, although he said another Chinese who fled from Parral had told him in Jiminez that "all the foreigners had been put to death." On the Macedonian front, east of the River Cerna yesterday, the Serbians captured S00 yards of trenches, the war office announces. They also stormed hill 1212 in the Cerna bend northwest of Iven. The French made progress in the direction of Monastir, reaching the outskirts of Kanena, in spite of floods which have interfered with operations. The statement says that in the fighting with the Serbians the Germans and Bulgarians sustained heavy losses. The Serbian official communication says: There was violent fighting, which was favorable to us despite the fog and a snow storm. 11 enemy attempts to recapture lost positions by counter attacks failed completely. The Bulgarians retired on the River Bistritza and hill 1378. We have taken 300 additional prisoners. On our left, Franco-Russian troops advancing on Monastir have occupied the villages of Velushina, Porodin and Jabyani. The prisoners the Serbians alone have captured since November 10 aggregate 3,900, including 1,000 Germans. During the same period we captured eight heavy guns, and sixteen field guns. We have captured since September 14, a total of seventy-one guns. Russian troops near Srany, southeast of Pinsk, have brought down a large Zeppelin airship. The crew of sixteen was captured.
