NEW INNOVATION FOR RACE TRACKS. To F. A. Jones of Newport, Ky., is credited the latest innovation in the way of improvements for cur modem race courses. It is a revolving stand for judges and turf writers. - The stand -can be located in center of- the inficlll fence of any race course and of any desired height. The columns supporting the stand are composed of structural steel. The ladder swivels on angle arms are attached to main columns of stand. The stand revolves on roller bearings driven by electric power and can be regulated so as to turn one revolution in one minute and forty seconds if desired. This is about the average speed run in any race. The advantage of a stand located and built on this plan allows the racing stewards to have their glasses on the horses running from break to finish and they can see every and anything that happens, which will insure cleaner racing. The turf writers would be in a position to give a more accurate account of the progress of the race and all its attending incidents.
