NEW MARYLAND TRACK HITS SNAG. State Tax Commission Has Not Approved Charter Reason for Delay Unknown. Baltimore, Md., December 19. The proposed new track at Bengies, in Baltimore County, seems race to have hit a. snag. in the State Tax Commission. What "may be the nature of the trouble is not definitely known. No haste is shown by the commission to approve the charter for racing, which ns an amendment to an agricultural fair charter was filed with it more than a week ago. The promoters of the new race track are James King, president; G. Howard White, Joseph Castel-berg, M. L. Fesemeir and Joseph C. Hughes. They have asked for an amendment to the original charter, which provides for a capital stock of 50,000. It is on this amendment that the commission shows no haste in acting. A protest has been filed with the commission, asking that it take no action until those opposed to the race track have had an opportunity to be heard. Although the commission has taken no action on the charter, work Is said to be progressing on the land at Bengies Intended as a Bite for the track.
