CAMELLIA TAKES TIJUANA FEATURE. Defeats Good Opposition in Selling Handicap Injury Displays Brilliant Speed Metcalf and Pool Ride. Tijuana, Mex., December 19. Camellia won the Lakeside Selling Handicap today from some of the best horses racing here. Camellia followed the early pacemaker closely, overtook Samuel R. Meyer in the stretch, and won in the final strides. Injury ran a sensational race, and,, after being last all the way to the stretch, finished fastest of all. He was only beaten a half length and would probably have won in a few more strides. John Graham was a bang-up third. Arthur Pickens rode the two winners, Sir Dyke in the third, and Camellia itp the feature race. He is easily showing the best form of the riders here. Sir Dyke was bid up to 00 by G. Alexandra, but was retained. Jockey Metcalf was back in the saddle again after his five days suspension. He celebrated his return with a victory on Marlon Rose II. in ,the second race, giving Jiim. two, .winners in as many mounts. E. Pool also-got brick into action after a two weeks layoff because of "illness, but he failed to show his old form on such a fast beginner as Orimar Lad. A. Casey, the little negro rider, rode a well-judged race on Concha in the last race, bringing the favorite home a winner in fine utyle.
