f MODEST RECORD OP W. R. COES STABLE IN THE RACING OF THE PRESENT YEAR 4 4 By winning the Harbor nill Steeplechase at Piping Rock last October the King James filly, Bet, became the chief money earner in W. K. Coes stable of 1910. The stable inmates included quite a band of foreign-bred two-year-olds bought for high prices, but, with the exception of Jack Mount, none of them proved capable of doing anything effective in racing; in fact, some of the most costly could not be started at all, due to sickness, bucked shins and other troubles that beset them. Jack Mount won the Mineola Stakes and a couple of purses and should prove a good three-year-old. Hauberk was a useful winner and, judging from wliat he did after being allowed to pass into another ownership, might well have been kept in the stable, the record of which for the year is: Horse. Col. and Sex. A. Pedigree. 1st. 2d. 3d. Won.
