To Daily Racing forms Readers From January 1, 1917, the price of Daily Racing Form will be TEN CENTS. The reasons for the advance in price arc: This newspaper is worth ten cents on the basis of cost of production. It is no longer profitable to produce Daily Racing Form at its present price. All costs of production have advanced, in most cases more than double. Paper has more than doubled in price. Long distance and cable telegraphy, by day wires, have doubled the cost of the news department. Labor and all items in each department have risen in price more than fifty per cent. From January 1 the publication of an eight-page paper, with four sets of past performances and telegraphic charts from New Orleans, Tijuana, Havana and Juarez will be necessary. New news features are to be added to the eight-page paper, so that its value will be greatly increased to its readers. Daily Racing Form Publishing Company asks you to believe that the increase in price is absolutely necessary, and promises to use every effort to adequately increase the value of the paper.
