LATE ENTRY TO THE KENTUCKY DERBY. Letter Conveying Maud Bacons Nomination Had Circuitous Journey to Louisville. Louisville, Ky.. February 13. — After a roundabout journey, the nomination of Maud llacon to the Kentucky Derby and Oaks was received Mon day bj Secretary Hamilton C. Applegate of the New I-misville Jockey Tab. The nomination was mailed by owner Ceoigt hilleruian. January L*9. at 10 ]i. m.. as a special delivery from Seattle. Wash. The postmarks show that the letter went to some l«»int in Mexico, and from there to National CUy. Cal. From there it was relayed to Ioiiisvlle, teaching hen several days after the nomiantious hud closed. On account of the hour the letter was mailed, however. Maud Bacon was immediately added to the nominations. She is a three-year-old i hestnut filly by Tony lloncro — Oviedo. which recently iias l»een racing at Tijuana.
