RECORD OF THE HORSES DISQUALIFIED IN THE COURSE OF THE RACING OF LAST YEAR I + + For infractions of the rules of racing forty-one horses were disqualified in the racing of 1916. This was decidedly in excess of the record of 1915. when only thirty horses were set back. Other than the crack two-year-old Hourless, no racer of great distinction suffered thus. It was his bad luck to be set back after linishiiig lirst in the Nursery Handicap at the Belmont Park fall meeting. The veteran Mon- ocacy was twice disqualified from second place. Only seventeen were set back after finishing first, the other disqualifications being from places. The dates, horses involved, tracks, jockeys and causes for the action taken are shown in the following tabulation: Date. Horse. Fin. Ind. No. Track. Jockey. Cause.
