R. L. BAKERS NEW ORLEANS EXPERIENCE. E R. L. Baker, of Kentucky, was disappointed Id through the continued wet spell that covered the lie jieriod of the New Orleans meeting. ••I iK-lieve that I have had the worst luck of any ii.V hoiseman that shipped to New Orleans." said Mr. Baker. "I waited all winter long for the track to to become fast, but my wait was in vain. I know that 1 would have won many purses had the track been fast. I had only one chance, and then the track was i.ot lightning Cast, to enter Pif Jr.. and my horse won from the best field of horses that faced the barrier in a handicap in the southern city. I believe that I have one of the best of trailers in Ed Trotter. 1 also had engaged one of the liest jockeys in Frank BohlBBOB, but unstable was not given a chance. I have shipped only three horses to Hot Springs pjf Jr.. Fair Orient and Manioc. The other portion of my stable has been shipoed to Charleston to be campaigned through eastern Canada under the guidance of trainer Trotter."
