. NEW RACING OFFICIAL APPOINTED. Toronto. Ont. May 2. — It is announced that the presiding judge at the spring meetings of the Ontario and Montreal Jockey Clubs will be Ieter Clinch of St. John. N. 1$. Mr. Clinch occupies a responsible position in St. John, and has been devoted to affairs of sjmrt for a generation. He has hewn instrumental to a large degree in the im ■ provement of Ihe bread of horses in Ihe Maritime provinces anil imported a Maadbag of thoroughbred sires for the New Drunswick government. The appointment is one made by the individual clubs, but will be most likely confirmed by the Canadian Racing Associations.
