FOALS OF 1916 IN ENGLAND AND FRANCE. The annual supplement to the English Stud Book, recently issued by Messrs. Weatherby, gives the list of foals of 19115. The supplement returns account for 3.411 foals, as against 3,507 in 191,r . 3..?s: in litll. and .USO in 1913. The proportion of dead foals returned shows a slight decrease, there being J97 iu 1910. compared with 3.YT in 1915. lu France no returns for 1916 have been published, but iu 1915 1.709 were produced, as compared with 1,820 iu 1914, and 1,911 iu 1913.
