CURRENT NOTES OF THE TURF. The four-year-old gelding Frisky was claimed at DulToriu Park Tuesday by T. A. Davies for 45. W. Karrick has the Meddler eolt Baffouilleur in first-class condition and ready for a race. P.affouil-leur worked a mile in 1:43% at Belmont Sunday without being extended. The majority of the stables taking part in the DufTerin Park meeting at Toronto, which closed yesterday, will remain for the Hillcrest Park meeting opening next Saturday. O. W. Cripjien and T. A. Davies last night shipped a part of their stables to Devonshire Park for the meeting which begins there Saturday. Jockey N. Taylor accompanied the Crippen stable. In France recently. M. Maurice La Riviette, a prominent sporting writer, compiled tables showing the average distance over which the progeny of various stallions won races in that country from 1911 to 1914. In all 357 stallions are included in the tables, and as a sire of stayers the Australian-bred horse, Patron, by Grand Flaneur — Olga, was on top, his son Philippe II. having won four races in 1913. of the average distance of over two miles and three-quarters. Among his four successes were the Prix Gladiateur run over three miles and seven-eighths and two other races, eaeh of two miles and a half.
