HAMILTON RACING DATES ASSURED. First Meeting of the Season at This Track Will Open June 26. Announcement comes from Hamilton that the meeting of the Hamilton Jockey Club beginning on June Ll! and continuing to July 3 is assured. The Hamilton meeting closes the day before the meeting at Fort Krie opens, the Niagara Racing sso-ciations dates being July 4 to July II, inclusive. The racing situation has been uncertain for several weeks, but it is probable that the various associations on the Canadian circuit must have had some assurance from an authoritative source for they are going ahead with their plans as if nothing had btip-peaedL Secretary Loudon of the Hamilton Jockey Club declares that he has more applications for stable room than he can handle. There promises to ln-big fields for the races at the Hamilton track. The class is better than last year. too. he says. The book for the Hamilton meeting has not been issued but is expel ted to be out in a few days. The Hamilton Derby to be run on the opening day, however, has forty-two entries and among the probable starters are Fruit Cake. Bondage. Iron Cross, Smart Money. Arravan, Al M. Dick. Judge Wingfiehl and At well. K. R. Bradley has entered two and one of the pair is the Prcakness winner, Kalitan. Harry Payne Whitney has nominated three, Bellringer. Rickety anil Tumbler. Westy Hogan, Op|Mirtiinity ami Kentucky Roy are also among the eligihlos. The Hamilton Derby certainly looks to he an event of promise this year.
