AQUEDUCT MEETING OPENS MONDAY. Brooklyn Handicap and Hudson Stakes the Feature Offerings for Opening Day. New York. June 23. — Kverything is in readiness for the opening of the Qaeeas County Jockey Clubs summer meeting of sixteen days, which opens at Aqueduct on Monday. A splendid program has lxen arranged for the initial days racing, with the Hudson Stakes and the Brooklyn Handicap as the stake offerings of the day. The Hudson Stakes is for two-year-olds at five-eighths of a mile and has a guaranteed cash value of ,000. Nine high-class youngsters are carded to start, including August Belmont, Lticullite, considered about the best two-year-old in the East. Lticullite will have to carry 128 pounds, but should be able to easily concede the weight. Bughouse, Hand Crenade and Debadou are expected to furnish the contention. For the twenty-ninth running of the Brooklyn Handicap, one of the best fields that ever contested that famous race will face the barrier on Monday. Among the named starters are such great racers as Roamer, Regret, Borrow, Old Rosebud, Boots. Omar Khayyam, the Kentucky Derby winner, and others. Roamer has rounded into form as was shown by his sensaitonal work-out this morning over the Aqueduct track, when Andrew Millers great gelding went a mile and an eighth in 1:49. This is a second faster than Friar Rocks time when he won the big race last year. A grand contest is in prospect and a record-breaking crowd, will be 09 bgpd fo witness it.
