LUKE McLUKES PROGENY APPEAR WELL. Zahra Filly Deemed the Star of a Choice Collection of Foals at Keencland. Lexington. Ky., June 23.- The 1017 crop of thoroughbred fonls at .1. O. Keouos Keen, hind Stud numbers fifteen, of which six are by Luke Mc-Luke. four by Froglegs. one by Vandcrgrift and the others by sires in England, their dams having bein brought over by Mr. keeiie last winter for the syndicate of which he and Messrs. John W. Schorr and George J. Long are the members. The home bred foals are the property of Messrs. .1. O. and G. H. Kecae and John W. Schorr. They arc the joint owners of the stallions Luke McLuke and Froglegs .Hid a bind of some twenty-five mares, every one of which is eligible for registration in any Stud Rook of the world and all of which are bred in the purple. The mares ami foals are all in good health and the majority of them have been bred back to Luke McLuke. The foals by Luke McLuke are among the best-looking baby racers in tie- Blaegrass state. As a matter of fact, it would be hard in, I I to find a better formed individual anywhere in the land than is the ehesteal filly dam Zahra. the dam of Z.imoia and Zenith, the colt by Ogdcn. which Mr. Ke.-ne sold to Congressman George W. Loft last winter for .0M . The bay fillies, dams Agnes Virginia, L.i Veiiganzi dam of Manager V.aitc and W Hand dam of Harry Kelly are not far behiad her in appiarasea. The brown colt, dam Micaehi. is a slashing big fellow and surelv will be a race horse. The bay colt, dam Winiiccook. is lighter made. They are all bristling With spirit. Chestnut colt by Vamlergrift Lady Vamlergrift. Those marked with an asterik * were imported in utero. The English mare Fine Art lost her bay colt bv Night Hawk and Avocado lost her chestnut colt by Luke McLuke.
