STALLION OCTAGON IS DEAD. Lexington, Ky., July 10. Dr. Lawson, "United States army veterinarian, who came to Lexington from Virginia today, made it known that Octagon, presented by August Belmont to the United States government, died last week at Front Boyal Station. Octagon was twenty- three years old, by Bayon dOr Ortegal, by Bend Or. He won the Brooklyn Derby, Toboggan Handicap twice, and other stakes. Among the horses he sired ivas the famous niare Beldame. ,
