Won driving; second and third the same. AILEEN O. displayed the most speed nil -the way, but had to be hard ridden in the final eighth to withstand JUNE BUGS challenge. The latter finished fast under punishment and would have won in another stride. DR. MUCK was forced extremely wide throughout and finished fastest of the leaders. RAPID FIRER saved ground, but could never get to the leaders. VOCABULARY hnd a rough race. POOR JOE and FROSTILLA quit. ISIDORE raced under slight restraint in the early ruuning and, passing the leader under mild urging in the homestretch, -won with speed in reserve. PULLUX -was forced to race wide all the way, hut finished gamely under punishment and outstayed TRIAL BY JURY. The latter set a fast pace, but tired when the final drive came. LUCIUS, away poorly, closed an immense gap and raii nn excellent race. NATURALIST and BEAVERKILL left the barrier poorly and closed big gaps In the first half, but tired and were eased up at the end. QUEEN OP THE SEA gradually improved her position and finished gamely under punishment. CHARMEUSE ran a good race and displayed much speed, but tired in the final eighth. BAYBERRY CANDLE, after being saved in the early running, slipped through on the Inside in the homestretch and finished with a rusli WISTFUL was forced wide by RHINE MAIDEN, but held on resolutely and outstayed the latter. NASHVILLE began slowly and was under restraint in the early running, but closed up rapidly when called on and, passing the leader in the last eighth, won under restraint. BOND rushed into a long lead and set a good pace, but tired when challenged. DAN raced in close pursuit of the leader and held LOTTERY safe through the homestretch. The latter showed scant speed. VIEWPOINT passed PHILIPPIC at lie eighth post and drew clear, but could not withstand the winners challenge. PHILIPPIC dis-plaved a high flight of speed in paceniaking, but tired when forced to a drive. HARWOOD finished gamely. GOLDEN ROD saved ground when entering the homestretch.
