1 MONTREAL MEETING AT MAISONNEUVE PARK. Montreal, Que., August 15. Montreals first oral betting race meeting will not take place at the Kempton Park. Laprairie course, but at the Maison-rieuve track. It will start on Saturday, August 18. Definite announcement to this effect was made today, and shipment of horses from the Laprairie course, where nearly 200 were stabled, to Maison-neuve is now under way. The heavy rain which deluged the Kempton track last week, together with the difficulties in the matter of transportation, resulted in the meetings being transferred to a city track. Manager Holman decided to lease the Maisonneuve track from the owners and will conduct his meeting there. The meeting will be under his personal management, there being no connection with the former management of the Maisonneuve course. The transfer is expected to prove advantageous both to the public and the management, as the Maisonneuve course is much easier of access, and it will be possible to run a full card of races daily.
