WINTER RACING FOR WHITNEY HORSES rrr James Rowo Plans to Take a String of About Twenty to New Orleans. Saratoga, X. Y., August 17. James Rowe has altout decided . to launch into winter racing on an extensive scale and stated this afternoon, that he would probably campaign about twenty o"f the H. P. Whitney horses in New Orleans next winter. Xearly every racer of note In these parts .has been nominated to the rich Kentucky stakes to be decided next fall. Omar Khayyam has been nominated to go in the long distance races and his trainer K. F. Carman said today that he would he a certain starter in the Latouia Cup. Among the youngster division such cracks as Papp, Sun Briar, High Cost and other Eastern two-year-olds have been named. Trainer Thomas Healy, in charge of the R. T. Wilson string, will ship the majority of his racers to Belmont Park August 20. The others will leave here at the close of the Saratoga racing. The Wilson horses will be campaigned at Belmont Park and after that meeting will be divided, one division remaining at Aqueduct for the racing there and the other going to Maryland to engage in the fall racing in that state. James Osborne, assistant to starter Dade, stopped off today en route to St. Louis, where he will join Dade, who will do the starting at the Maxwelton meeting. A. G. Blakely lias acquired at private terms the yearling colt, brother to Kalitau, from O. H. Comstock. The horses owned by R. J. Mackenzie, now at Pleasanton, Cal., will be shipped to Maryland for the racing there. Thos. Keane has added Glomer to his stable.
