CURRENT NOTES OF THE TURF. In preparation for his engagement in the Travers Stakes Saturday Omar Khayyam -Svas given a stid work-out Wednesday, being sent a mile and a quarter in 2:09. A. K.- Jlacombers Dodge is once again in training and is apparently rounding into condition.. It is hoped that he may show a return to the good form he displayed last year. August Belmonts Lucullite, which has been given a long rest, apitears in splendid condition and will probably carry the colors of jfhuj chairman of "the Jockey Club in the Spihaway. James Arthur, the widely-known and popular Western turfman, has only two of his horses at Saratoga, he having sent sixteen, down to Laurel, where they will be prepared for the Maryland circuit, beginning at Havre de Grace. Old Salt schooled through two . turns of the field at Saratoga Wednesday evening in a manner which elicited the most cordial admiration from steeplechase experts who were watching him.
