FAVORITES DISAPPOINT AT HAVANA Xong- Shots Hold Sway at Oriental Park Racing Everv Day Beginning Next Tuesday. Havana, Cuba, December 11. Racing .at Oriental Park this afternoon was featured by Close and interesting finishes. The third race-was the best of the day, with the finish between the first three so close that the result was in doubt until the official placing was displayed. Lenshens Pride proved the winner, with only a slight margin over Count Boris, which was but a similar distance in advance of Money. Lenshens Pride paid S01.2O for every invested in the mutuels. The opening dash went to Circulate, which scored a close victory over "agalond, the decided choice of the race. Another long shot won the second, when Lantana beat Fonetiounaire in decisive fashion. The biggest disappointment of the day was the defeat of Miss Fannie in the fourth, Dental out-gaming the filly in the final strides of a terrific stretch drive. Backers of favorites fared badly in the next race, when Thomas Callaway was taken in camp by the 10 to 1 shot Thirst. The track dried out considerably and, while nor fast, was good. G. R. Bryson and several other owners got in from Bowie today with their horses. Another consignment from the same place Is due tomorrow. The attendance today was larger than on any day except Sunday siuce the meeting began. Speculation was of heavy volume and brisk throughout the day. Beginning next Tuesday, races will be run every day until after New Years.
