NO CHANGE IN STARTING TIME Bowie Races May Begin at 230 PM Same as Last Year Management May Not Attempt to toTake Take Advantage of Moving MovingUp Up of the Clock Baltimore Md March 29 While no positive de ¬ cision lias yet been made it is altogether likely that the races will start at the same old scheduled time of 230 oclock with the opening of the spring season at the Bowie track on next Monday In other words the management of the Southern Mary ¬ land Agricultural Association will not attempt to Take advantage of the moving in of the clock by setting tile starting time back to 330 oclock by the new time but will start at 230 as in former years thus allowing the patrons of the course a chance to be back in the city in ample time for dinner and any evening engagements they may have It is altogether probable that such an arrangement will suit the majority of persons much better than to start later and then get home at dark or long after the candles are lighted lightedAH AH is now in readiness so far as the track goes for the opening here at Prince Georges Park and while there already were enough horses on hand to run off a meeting others are still arriving Rich ard Pending superintendent of the track received word today that on next Tuesday a special train of seventeen horse cars would leave Hot Springs scheduled to arrive at the Bowie track on Friday morning morningThe The course presented a syick and span appearance today paint and whitewash having been used in profusion That superintendent Pending has the track itself in the best of shape was proved by til nut1 of the recent fast works of the horses AVutor Lsuly and Bondage worked fiveeighths in 10 pulling up for threequarters of a mile in 117 J J Sweeney sent Hauberk and Goblin fjvijightlit in 103 these two doing the three quarters in 118 quite handily ANDY BLAKELEY HORSES ARRIVE ARRIVEAmong Among the most recent arrivals are James Arthur William Oliver J S Ownbey C X Freeman and lied Walker Andy Blakeley who left Hot Springs on Sunday lias arrived and the car of twelve horses which he had shipped by express on Satur ¬ day also got in inIetter Ietter train service than ever has been had for 1owie is promised for the coming meeting Tames J Doyle general manager of the Baltimore Wash ¬ ington Annapolis electric lint1 has procured forty three new cars and the company also lias leased fifteen cars from the Chesapeake Ohio Railroad these being excursion cars that have been run in and out of Washington WashingtonThese These race track trains will not leave from the old station but the start will be made in trains of five cars each from the corner of Eutaw and Loinbnrd streets and will be run at short intervals The first regular train which will carry the track employees and others who have to be on hand early will leave at 1015 each morning The first regu IMV race train will leave at 12 oclock noon and others will follow at short intervals as fast as filled up upAll All the horsemen in this section are talking about what a great hand of good twoyearolds will be seen here with the spring meetings many of which have shown good trials at Bowie and the old Ben ning track It is declared that there are more good youngsters this spring than any one can remember having seen at the start of any previous season
