SARATOGAS GREAT ARRAY OF STAKES Twenty to Close for Nominations Next Monday in Preparation for a Notable Meeting At midnight of Monday April 1 the splendid list of twenty stake races offered by the Sara ¬ toga Association will close for entries In view of the fact that two previous offerings have al ¬ ready closed and the further fact that on May li four well endowed steeplechase stakes will ulosf it is no wonder that the thoughts and hopes of all owners east and west center on Sara ¬ toga as the supreme testing ground of equine rivalry It has become the Newmarket of the United States Its meeting next August will be one of salltary glorv There will then be no rac ¬ ing going on in Canada Kentucky or Maryland It results that anything and everything good in the way of racing horses in the United States and Canada will perforce clash at Saratoga It is really a remarkable prospect of the sport in its noblest and enthralling aspects It is obvious that Saratogas accommodations for man and beast are to be tested as never Infore InforeIt It must be said that the measures taken by the Saratoga Association are in keeping with the impor ¬ tance of the occasion Since last years meeting the track has been put under the process of being made ovcirinil tlie horses of this year will run over a new safe and modernized course It is expected to be fast and it is probable that many of the present track records will be replaced by new ones espe ¬ cially if it turns out to he in the main a dry August instead of a wet one as the August of last year was The new track the provision of more than thirty great stake races the certainty that all of the great horses of the day will be there to do buttle and the outstanding fact that those who would aracing go will have no other place to go to combine to presage a truly memorable meeting at Saratoga this year The yearThe races to close for entries next Monday are all of long establishment except the Schuylerville SUtkes They are all well known to owners and should draw lavish nominations Attention is called to the asso ¬ ciations advertisement of their general terms on the last page of this edition of Daily Uacing Form
