CARO NOME set the pac-e under a stout pull for three-quarters, but tired in the final drive and just outstayed PROGRESSIVE. The latter was in close quarters in the homestretch and finished gamely next to the inner rail. KILMER had no mishaps. BRANDO lacked speed. JABOT was eased up when beaten.
