, 1 I 1 1 I 1 : 1 i 1 I v RECOUNT TO BE SENT TO PIMLIC0 Schwartz Bros. Enfilade May Accompany Wilson Colt — Both to Start in Preaknecs. New York. May 1. — It looks as if the only late day representative in the Preakuess from this section will |„. Recount, from the stable of Andrew Miller. Arrangements have lieeu made with the Adams Express Company to have a car ready for Recount to lie loaded for Pimlieo next Friday and, while it is possible the Schwartz Brothers may send Enfilade along with Mr. Millers candidate, it is by no means certain. The probable incentive for Mr. Miller paying the expense of a car to send one or perhaps two horses to Pinilico, is the fact that L-iuius. Luciillite. Drastic and Trompe la Morte are all doubtful starters in the Preakuess. and this will ecr;ain|y give Recount a much better winning chance than he otherwise would have had. The most likely contenders for the race now are Papp. George Starr. Recount and one or two others. The whole complexion of the race has lieen changed through nothing else but the inability of the express company to provide cars to carry horses to Pimlieo and the possibilities of inconveniences *■ coni-ng back to this section after Pimlieo closes. There is a chance, however, for War Cloud to get back from Louisville in time for the Preakuess if it is deemed advisable by Walter Jennings. All depends upon the way lie comes out of the Kerituckv Bcrby. The greatest of care was given the horse 111 his transmission to Kentucky. Herbert Temple, of the Adams Express Company, notified all rail- 1 road and express agents on the line of travel to pay 1 attention to the car containing War Cloud, and. while he had not heard of the colts safe arrival, he presumed that he would get there early this morning unless something unforeseen happened. 1 Notwithstanding the track at Belmont Park was muddy today, some of the horses were worked. -Sam 1 llildreth bad Hourless out for a mil and a quarter I gallop, which ha did in 2:21. All his horses were kept moving excepting Stromlsili. which, so it is rumored among horsemen, has bowed a tendon. « This will, no doubt, necessitate his withdrawal from all his engagements this year. I It has also lieeu asserted that Straight Forward has bruised his foot, which has caused his absence from the training track the past few days, and was 1 possibly the cause of Thomas llealey not shipping 1 any of his horses to Pinilico. Among the two-year-olds from Major Belmonts I stable there are two colts and three fillies that are i atlracting so attention among the early morning I watchers, indicating that his stable will be a factor 1 in the two -year -old stakes to In- run at the earlv t meetings, as the entire band is well forward anil 1 b.-ing trained by Mr. llildreth.
