■ • i 1 TRANID BRINGS ,000 AT AUCTION Kentucky Sales Company Disposes of Forty Eight Head of Thoroughbreds for 6,250. Lexington. Ky., May 10.— Tranid. Water Belle and Victoria M.. last of the thoroughbreds helong- Ing to the estate of the late Schuyler L. Parsons. of New York, were sold for top prices at the Kentucky Sales Companys spring auction last night. Tranid, sister to Love Not, in foal to Luke M.--Luke. was knocked down after spirited bidding to Kdward It. Bradley for .0*10. Water Belle, sister 1o King Hamburg, by Waterlmy — Hamburg Belie, with a filly at foot by Incle and bred to Iltimiis, went to A. B. Hancock for ,100. and Victoria M., dam of four winners and half-sister to Hessian, with season paid to Ballot, "was pnr- chased by W. B. Miller at the bargain price „f ,000. Four unbroken two-year-olds by Rapid Water, consigned by G. W. J. Bissell. who is "selling out because of the rule which forbids the racing of two-year-olds before April 1 without penalty, brought ,125. and four yearlings by the same sire, also consigned by Mr. Bissell. brought 1918.sh95. The eight vearlings by the French stallion Pataud. con-. signed by John K. Madden, brought ,840. Messrs. Carr and Piatt nought several of the better looking of the twenty-two yearlings sold, with the intention of keeping them until summer or fall and selling them again. They annually do this and find it profitable as a rule. They are excellent feeders and care takers. The aggregate for the twenty-two yearlings was ,325. while the aggregate for the entire sale of forty-eight head v:;s 0,250. The summary follows: Tear lings.
