I FLAG DAY TO BE PROPERLY OBSERVED Latonia Jockey Club Will Have Track Appropriately Decorated for the Occasion. Cincinnati. .. June U. — General Manager John Haehnicister is making special arrangements f„r the observance of Flag Day at the Latonia Bate track. It happens that Flag Day fills on the same dav as that set aside for the opening of the Latonia Jockey Clubs spring meeting of twenty-six days on Friday next. As the horses parade to the post for the opening race of the meeting the beautiful flag of enormous size that flies cverv day from the gigantic flagstaff in the infield of the Latonia track will bo raised to the strains of the Star Spangled Hanncr and flung to the breeze. It will be a pretty ceremonial and one that will lend a patriotic air to the inauguration of the meeting, a g.iodly percentage of the profits of which are to be set apart for patriotic purposes, including the contribution of a handsome amount to the mammoth fund of 00,000 which the racing interests of Kentucky are raising for the Bed Cross. The grandstand and other parts of the Latonia eneloaire will lie appropriately decorated with the national colors in connection with the observance of the day. Profuse use of the red. white and blue bunting will transform the appearance of the grandstand and will give the opening a patriotic aspect that cannot but bo pleasing to patrons ol the spurt.
