Haldeman Opposed to Racing Nezt Autumn Action of the State Commission. Latonia. Ky.. June 14. — Memliers of the Ken-in tucky Racing Commission, chairman Camden lM-ing in absentee, met in the Latonia track club house bi fire the racing, with a view to passing npen racing matters in general and, primarily, to pass U|Kin the applications of the different Kentucky Associations for fall racing date*. Early in the proceedings, General W. B. Haltlcman submitted a statement in which he voiced his views to the other members of the commission, as being opposed to :-nv fall racing this year. His statement brought .iIm.iii" a prolonged discussion and finally culminate.; in the following resolution, which was carried: "B- solved That the various racing associations bring represented at this m-etiug and. failing to isk for fall racing dates, the matter of consideration "f fall racing dates in Kentucky was paalpaw d." Judge Allie W. Young then offered the following thre- new- rules: "Resolved. That no ourse of less, than ,200 shall he given by any association operating under li-,1 eenve granted by this commission, within t-n rnilo of a city of four hundred thousand or more popula-ii tion. nor of SI. 000 within ten miles of any city of less than four hundred thousand and more than wo hundred and fifty thousand population, nor less than by any race track operating within ten miles of a city of less than two hundred and fifty thousand population." "Kesolved. That M part of any purse won by a bane shall be l,:jiil in Liberty Bonds or War Sav i is"- Stamps that have been purchased, but the owner of said horse may be required to purchase from the government St.-Aups or Liberty Bonds in such sums as the association may direct in the conditions printed for said race, so that the same shall not exceed 00 of any purse nor 00 of any stake." "Resolved. That declarations in purse races when ll ri- are only eight entries or less, must be accompanied by five per cent of the first monev. when less than seven entries remain, none shall withdraw without the consent of the stewards and then no declaration f -e shall be charged." The commission adjourned to meet subject to the call of the chairman.
