GOOD PRICES FOR MADDEN YEARLINGS A. H, Diaz Shows Patriotism by Bidding in Two Youngsters Sold for Wax Charities. New York. Juno 20. — Twenty-five yearling eolts and fillies, the proiiorty of John E. Madden, were sold at auction at Durlands Tuesday evening and brought a total of ."?3N.250. The highest price of the sale was paid by A. II. Diaz, a patriotic and public spirited citizen of Havana. Cuba, who secured Just Fancy, a brown filly by Colin — Idle Fancy, which was sold in the interests of the Red Cross, for . ."Ml. Senor Diaz further showed his patriotism by bidding in a bay colt by Hessian — Motley, which was sold in the interests of the soldiers* tobacco fund, for .,500. Aside from the sales which went to the credit of the Ued Cross and tobacco fund, the highest prize realized was .S00, paid by Max Hirsch for a yearling son of Pisguisi — Chancery, and a brother to Assume. G. W. I-angdon bought a chestnut colt bv Pallot — Gruciila for S3.«i00 and L. Garth secured -mother by Pallet — Sweet Lavender, a half brother to Itancher. for ,050.
