June 29. — The next big event of the Kentucky racing season will be the eighth running of the Independence Handicap of ,500 add« -i. one mile and three-sixteenths, for three-year-olds and over, which, as its name implies, is scheduled to ha run on Tlursday next, the anniversary of our national independence.
