CRIMPSALL raced in closest pursuit and finished fast. WISE MAN ran well under weak riding. EMPRESS was in char quarters through the stretch drive. FREDERICK THE GREAT was never a dangerous contender. BROOKS made the pace fast, raced the others into subjection and was ridden out at the end to withstand TRlMPATORS stretch challenge. The latter jumped awkwardly, but showed much s|eed on the flat and crossed in front of ST. CIIARLCOTE on the last turn, causing him to lose a few lengths. ST. CIIARLCOTE was under stout restraint in the early running, but failed to respond when called on. BET had no mishaps and was cased up when soundly beaten.
