WILLIAMS BROS GREAT DAY Capture Three of the Seven Races on Latonias Program Fruit Cake Wins the Feature Race RaceAfter After Many Disappointments Jockeys and the Draft Latonia Ky July 1 Williams brothers had a field day at Latonia this afternoon representatives from their establishment accounting for tiirce of the seven races decided Their success began in the third race when their twoyearold Linden scored a lucky victory over the suddenly improved Camou flciir which was ridden this afternoon by Luns ford instead of Morys The Williams Brothers ini ¬ tial success was duplicated by FauxCol which showed a fine mile performance in finishing in ad ¬ vance of Franklin and Serenest SerenestQueen Queen Apple contributed the third victory for the stable when she won in easy style in the sixth nice at a mile and a sixteenth in which she led home a fairly good band of platers Jockey Howard the stable rider piloted the first pair of Williams Brothers representatives and Lunsford rode Queen Apple AppleA A handicap at threequarters for a purse of 1100 was the best race carded and it enabled Kruit Cake to finally after many efforts win when she beat Prince of Conio and J J Murdock Her success was partially aided by the good ride she was given and under similar good riding J J Murdock would have been the victor The latter lost much ground by being ridden wide whereas Fruit Cake saved considerable space in the race by staying close to the inner rail Irince of Coino showed the most early speed but after rounding into the stretch he was done The disapiHiintment in the race was Boniface which failed to display much speed at any stage of the race and finished far back backA A sudden rtrcp in temperature brought about extra pleasant conditions this afternoon The at ¬ tendance was of substantial size for Monday and the speculation also of a good total The program with the exception of two races was made up with a view to giving the more ordinary ones oppor ¬ tunity to earn purses and brought together big fields the limit starting in four of the dashes with eleven going to the i ost in another anotherThe The tnick was in good condition and fast time was the order in most of the races were the better grade started All the contests were enjoyable and hard fought from the start startGeneral General Crowders work or fight order which went into effect this afternoon did not have a dis ¬ turbing effect on the former routine system Early in the season the Latonia management established a rule of employing only those who were not of draft age There was u rumor that the jockeys of draft age would have to suspend riding but many who had previously ridden were again in the saddle saddleThis This was due to their respective dnift Inmrds having notified them on application for information to continue in their present employment as most of them would have to answer the July call There will be about twentythree riders affected by the new ruling and they will upon a veterinary reiiort that he was ailing ailingJockey Jockey Gaugel being required to report to his dnift board was unable to fill his riding engage ¬ ment in the sixth race Mink being substituted on Russell Square SquareJockeys Jockeys Molesworth and Kederis departed for their respective homes and will probably not be seen in the saddle again for some time timeAles Ales La Holds Chnlita has is sent to the post for Independence Day Handicap which would make his weight for the nice 111 pounds
